I'm a programmer focused on backend web development. My main craft is PHP - primarily with Symfony, though I'm comfortable across other PHP frameworks too. When a project calls for raw speed I reach for Go, usually to build APIs, and I keep Python around for automation.

I don't consider myself a designer, but I can put together something clean when it's needed. JavaScript isn't my favourite language, yet I'm productive with Next.js or SvelteKit when a project needs a frontend.

For the rest of the toolbox: Git for version control, PostgreSQL as my default database and Redis for caching. I care a lot about web security and write backend code with it in mind. I like to Dockerise things for production and handle a fair bit of my own DevOps - naturally, on machines running GNU/Linux.

Away from the keyboard you'll usually find me out hiking - long trails are how I clear my head - or sat over a chessboard. And when curiosity pulls me back to the machine, I like to go low: lately I've been teaching myself assembly. The low-level world pulls me in, and I find reverse engineering genuinely fascinating.
